Sam had to settle for kicking off his boots and shedding his jacket, then edging onto the side of the bed, face turned away from his brother, listening to Dean’s breath finally slow and even out. It was enough to remind him that there was still a scrap of hope in the world.

I kind of like how manipulative Lucifer can be without having to tell one single lie. I also like how much Sam lets that one truth shape his thoughts and actions

"No, actually, I think I will," Sam said, a near-hysterical tone in his voice for just a second. "You don't know what it's like for me in this house, Dean, in all of these fucking houses. It's the same room over and over again and Dad and you, and nothing else, and I can't do it anymore."

Sam took a shuddering breath, and then snarled, showed his teeth in a malicious grin. "I don't want to."

That shut Dean up pretty effectively. Sam wasn't pulling punches; someone could get seriously hurt here.

There's so much intensity in this story, emotionally charged scenes of them growing up together. I love stories that make me have a physical reaction, a tightening of the chest, a horrible feeling in my gut. And there really is SO MUCH tension in this story, so much restrained/redirected violence, fabulous story.

'We're sorry we can't deal with your supernatural emergency, we've been cursed!'

It occurs to Sam, ten seconds after he's sent the message, that this is the first time he's spoken to Gabriel first.

This had me grinning the whole way through, the text messages were cute and Gabriel has always been a little fixated and Sam, hasn't he?

Dean’s not so out of it to recognize that that’s a fucking laugh, coming from Sam, but the fever is dragging him under again. The grin he starts to crack turns into a gape and the chunk of hot dog tumbles out of his mouth and onto his chest.

“Dean,” Sam says from behind him, sounding frantic and needy in a way he hasn’t in years. A hand paws at Dean’s face—at his cheek—and he’s back in the warehouse again, hanging from his hands with a needle in his neck. There’s a djinn around here somewhere, gonna try and hurt Sammy; Dean needs to get free.

It's the apocalypse and it's a wonderfully written apocalypse indeed. But the boys still manage to make trouble between themselves with misunderstandings and miscommunications.

This reader was brilliant, I swear to god, Sam and Dean should sound like this in the *show*. She gets Dean's growly voice! She makes them sound like men, while at the same time the whiny little bitches they are! It's fantastic.

The story itself is about how Sam has been in love with his brother since he was 16 and how finally he's found something Dean can say No to.

Castiel's angelic grace was newly confused with mortality. Time still existed all at once. The light sliding across soft cotton, smooth skin, and delicate lashes moved too slowly and too fast.

This fic was scary for me because it showed me a world in which the future versions of themselves changed so slowly and seamlessly into the people we saw in 5.04 that it was impossible to pinpoint one moment where everything changed.

I'd apologise for giving that plot point away but dude, it's Sam/Dean. Sam is just ridiculously awesome in this, how he deals with things, how he handles bad shit when it happens. And there's so much happiness to be had here, even with the thing where you work out that you're fucking your brother. Oops.

For someone who was bought up as a hunter Mary Winchester sure did a half ass job of preparing her family for what she knew was coming. This fic gives her the smarts to do what needs to be doing and it is *fabulous*. I LOVE where trinityofone went with this idea.

Outside, the ground is rough under Dean's bare feet, and the man with yellow eyes scoops him up into his arms. He smells funny so Dean doesn't cuddle close but he twists his hand in the man's collar to hold on.

They walk down the road and Dean looks back at his house, all the windows lit up with fire. The fire trucks are coming; Dean can hear their noises.

"What about Sammy?" Dean says.

The man with yellow eyes smiles again and rubs Dean's back, his hand covering him from shoulder to shoulder. "You'll see him later. Promise. But you just forget all that for now."

Dean gets screwed by just about every person in existence. And just when he thinks he's out there's some encore screwage, so to speak:)

They'd heard of the tsukiji before, but never faced one themselves. Japanese name of unknown provenance, hazy details about appearance and capacities--as Dean now knows really well, the creature is stunted and roughly humanoid with plate-sized silver eyes, composed of solid obsidian-colored muscle and able to toss very large people like Sam around as easily as a coat--but one thing has always been made painfully clear: the blood can kill you. Get infected and the blood will kill you--before the next day's sunset in almost every case.


I kept getting surprised during this reading by little gems of sentences, neat little turns of phrase. And the author/reader has a voice that reminds me of arrow00's, deep and vast. She had such control over the panic and fear and grief in Dean's inner voice and dialogue. Superb reading.

Even though this is a Dean/Castiel fic it has one of the best wee!chester anecdotes ever. Sam plays the matchmaker, with weird results:)

So sweet and dreamy.

A nice, quiet story that reveals a post-apocalyptic world that really isn't that different from the world we live in now.

Dean flexes his hand on the gearshift. Without purpose, just because. It's a nervous tic he's always had. He sighs and shakes his head. "Shut up, Sammy."


This broke my heart but it was so full of joy and hope and life for the rest of the time that it was completely worth it.
